Roy wins the PiriPiri Race to 500 - Essex League 2011!

The Hard Hitting Royston Smith of Ardleigh Green CC, has won the Race to 500 in the Essex League for 2011. Roy reached the mark in just 7 seven completed innings and beat his nearest competitor Aaron West of Brentwood CC by 55 runs with the same completed innings. We congratulate Roy and he will be presented with his bat at the league dinner at the end of this month. He had these words to say about winning the competition...

'Highlight on the way to winning the Piri Piri race to 500 has to be the game at home to Chelmsford, going out to bat at 25-5 with the bowler on a hatrick, I went on to get 155no. PiriPiri North Essex Cricket League CUP FINALS!

The PiriPiri North Essex Cricket League Cup Finals were held on Sunday the 4th September at Halstead Cricket Club. A great day of cricket shown by all 4 sides in both the Plate Cup final and Cup final... Some brilliant Bowling and Batting, followed by some superb individual efforts in the field!

Congratulations to Purleigh CC winning the Plate Cup Final and Coggeshall CC winning the Cup Final... Below are some images of the winning Captains and some action shots of the Coggeshall team using their PiriPiri's to see themselves to victory...
